Video Recording Specifications

• Layout: The video can be in landscape or portrait format.
• Quality:  The video must have a minimum resolution of 720p .
• Upload:  Participants may upload their videos to YouTube, Dropbox, or Google Drive. 
• Music Score: A copy of the music score must be included with the video submission.

Guidelines for Submitting Video Performances

• Continuous Take: If performing more than one piece, the recording must be in a single, continuous take without any edits.
• Recording Quality: Video and audio should be clear with minimal background noise.
• Visibility: The video must clearly show the participant’s hands and face.
• Time Limits: The video performance must not exceed the time limit for the chosen category.
• No Changes: Once the application is submitted, the chosen repertoire cannot be changed
• Privacy Settings: The video should be set to public / unlisted for viewing.

Pianists aged 18 years and below of any nationality are eligible to compete in this competition.

*Outstanding Performer Recipients of the past IDYP events are not eligible to compete in the same category again 

•  Repertoire Selection: Original works and standard arrangements or transcriptions from the classical repertoire (e.g., Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth-Century) are acceptable. The competition committee will review all submitted repertoire.
• Number of Pieces: Participants may select up to two pieces for their performance.
• Repertoire Changes: Once registered, no changes to the repertoire are allowed.
• Time Limits: The selected pieces must adhere to the specified time limit.
• Memorization: All pieces must be performed from memory.
• Repeats: All repeats should generally be omitted, except for da capo repeats. However, participants may include repeats if it enhances the artistic quality of the performance.
• Advancement to Final Round: Participants who pass the preliminary round will proceed to the final round for a live audition. The same pieces may be performed in both the preliminary and final rounds.

1. Registration Fee 

• The registration fee for all categories is set at SGD 180. 
• The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. 

2. Competition Schedule 

• The final round competition schedule will be emailed to participants/parents. 
• Participants must adhere to the competition schedule. 
• Failure to do so may result in disqualification. 

3. Application Acknowledgement

• By submitting the application to the IDYP2025 event, participants automatically acknowledge, accept, and agree to abide by the event’s terms, conditions, and rules. 
• Participants are required to acknowledge every email or message (via WhatsApp) sent by the organizer. 
• Young participants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. 

4. Live-Audition Reporting 

• The live competition will take place on 4 July 2025. 
• All participants must report to the registration desk 30 minutes prior to their assigned performance time. 
• Participants arriving late for registration may be disqualified without a refund. 

5. (Optional) Sound-Check Session 

• Finalist will be assigned to a sound check session on 3 July 2025. 
• The scheduled sound check session will be emailed to participants/parents. 
• Use of the sound check facilities and its session is optional. 

6. Dress Code 

• All participants must dress formally during the competition. 
• Informal attire, such as jeans, sneakers, flip-flops, shorts, short skirts, tank tops, and t-shirts, is strictly prohibited. 
• Participants failing to adhere to the dress code may not be allowed to perform. 

7. Concert Hall 

• Regulations Photography, audio, and video recording of performances during the Final Round are strictly prohibited. 
• The use of mobile phones or any electronic devices during performances is strictly prohibited inside the concert hall. 
• Each participant may bring a max of two guests to the hall during the final round. 

8. Disqualification Criteria 

• Any breach of competition rules, such as non-adherence to the schedule, improper dress code, late arrival, or disruptive behavior, may lead to disqualification. 
• Disqualification will be done at the discretion of the competition organizers and is non-negotiable. 

9. Liability 

• The organizer is not responsible for any personal belongings lost or damaged during the competition. 
• The organizer is not liable for any injuries sustained by participants during the event.

•  The adjudication panel reserves the right to stop a participant’s performance at any point in the competition once a decision has been made.
• The panel also reserves the right to modify, withhold, or remove certain prizes if deemed necessary.
• If any jury member has taught a participant continuously within the past year, that jury member will be excluded from evaluating that participant's performance.
• All decisions made by the adjudication panel are final, and no discussion or correspondence regarding the results will be entertained.

• In the context of audio-visual recordings and photographs taken during the Preliminary and Final Round Auditions, as well as the Prize Winner Concert, applicants hereby renounce all economic and any other rights related to these recordings. They grant authorization to IDYP2025 and any affiliated production and broadcasting entities for the unrestricted publication and reproduction, either partially or fully, of their performances.
• By submitting their registrations, all applicants are considered to have granted IDYP2025 and its affiliated sponsors or partners the right to use their personal data, including photographs, audio, and video recordings.
• Additionally, by submitting their registrations, applicants also authorize IDYP2025 and its affiliated sponsors or partners to use their contact information, including for marketing purposes.

•  The organizer reserves the right to cancel competition categories in unforeseen circumstances. If a category is canceled, registration fees will be fully refunded.
• Competitors who arrive late may be disqualified at the discretion of the organizer.
• Participants must adhere to the performance order determined by the organizing committee on the day of the competition.
• In the event of a dispute, the decision made by the organizing committee shall be considered final.
